Vision Plan

CAPE has been pleased with Vision Service Plan’s (VSP) overwhelming popularity in its vast network of optometrists, ophthalmologists and eyewear outlets.  In response, the CAPE Benefit Trust has decided to discontinue the voluntary vision plan and make VSP the network for CAPE/Blue Shield’s vision benefits for plan year 2014.

As of January 2014, CAPE/Blue Shield participants may choose any VSP doctor at www.vsp.com or call (800) 877-7195. You are also covered if you use non-VSP licensed doctors, but the highest level of benefits will be through VSP providers. Schedule an appointment and tell the doctor you are a VSP member. No ID cards or filling out claim forms is necessary unless you use a non-VSP provider.

Thank you for your prior voluntary CAPE/VSP. The voluntary CAPE/VSP plan will terminate 12/31/13; separate deductions will cease beginning January 2014.  Should you have any further questions or concerns, contact our customer service team at (800) 487-3092.
