Affiliations
CAPE is affiliated with Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association (MEBA) and the American Federation of Labor--Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL—CIO). CAPE is also a proud member of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor and the Coalition of County Unions (CCU), an alliance of ten Los Angeles County unions that collectively bargain for the health, retirement and other fringe benefits of all County "Choices" participants.
The CAPE Benefit Trust, a non-profit organization that administers benefits to those County employees who are eligible for the "Choices" menu of health plans, was formed as a separate entity in 1980.
