Fringe Benefit Contract Negotiations Continue

Like CAPE members’ Salary Contracts, the Fringe Benefits Contract covering important benefit provisions for CAPE-represented employees is scheduled to expire September 30, 2015. The Fringe Benefit Contract is negotiated by all of the affiliated County employee associations, including CAPE, as part of the Coalition of County Unions (CCU).

The County's contribution to the Choices medical and dental programs, the County's funding of  the Horizons deferred compensation plan, and important sick, vacation, and holiday time provisions are just a few of the many important benefits determined at the Fringe Benefit Contract bargaining table.

So far the major focus of the fringe benefits contract negotiations has been the CCU’s proposal to increase the County’s contribution to CHOICES to cover employees’ rising healthcare premiums. It is still early in the negotiations process. We will keep CAPE members informed as the Fringe Benefit Contract negotiations progress.
