Preparations Begin for 2013 Contract Negotiations with L.A. County!

Over the past several years, in the midst of a struggling economy and heightened anti-public employee sentiment, CAPE representatives worked hard to defend our members' pay and benefits and ensure that the vital public services we provide would continue.

In 2012, working together with our labor partners, we beat back the attempts to silence our political voice by defeating Proposition 32.  We also helped pass Proposition 30, securing badly needed revenue to stabilize the state's budget and pay for services that were transferred from the state to Los Angeles County due to realignment.

Today, Los Angeles County is in a more secure financial position than at any time in recent years.  It is time to bargain for fair and long overdue cost-of-living-adjustment raises in 2013!

Bargaining Team Volunteers Needed:

Our L.A. County contracts covering wages, hours, and working conditions, as well as fringe benefits, for CAPE represented employees expire September 30, 2013.

Bargaining Teams are now being formed for the 2013 Contract Negotiations.  The Bargaining Teams help develop contract proposals, meet with Management to negotiate, and keep CAPE members informed as to the status of negotiations and what they must do to increase our chances of achieving fair pay and benefit contracts.

No experience is necessary.  To sign up for a CAPE Bargaining Team, please complete and return the Volunteer Form to the CAPE office by 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
