Stop the Special Exemptions Act: NO on PROP 32! - 8/15/12
Proposition 32: the Special Exemptions Act is our Wisconsin. If passed by voters this November, Proposition 32 will silence the labor movement in California and stop our ability to defend and advance your important rights, benefits, and protections.
Prop 32 is the ultimate one-two punch by powerful special interests against working families. First, they take away our voice, so next, they can take away our rights and benefits. Without any political voice, it would be impossible for CAPE to defend against the political attacks on our pensions and collective bargaining. Just imagine - without collective bargaining - pensions, healthcare, and other benefits; grievance protections; and even our salary would not be protected by contract. As such, the Board of Supervisors would then be empowered to change the terms and conditions of our employment at any time for any reason.
We must Defeat Proposition 32 this November! To learn more about this deceptive measure, please read the Message from CAPE President Carlos Clayton about Prop 32.
CAPE representatives will be at your work locations asking you to help Defeat Proposition 32 in November. It's up to all of us to defend our hard-earned rights, benefits, and protections.
